As a Wedding Celebrant I am aware that increased sightings of the 'groomzilla' are bringing brides-to-be to their knees globally! With far bigger fish to fry than just booking the transport these days, the modern man is no longer taking the back seat when it comes to the planning of a wedding.
So should we be fearing this sudden influx of interest and uninformed opinion from these furrier mammals? Or should these beasts be left free to roam?
First step... identify the species.
1. Does your fiance suddenly have an opinion about table centrepieces, invitation embossing and the cost of Jimmy Choo?
2. Has your fiance started casually using phrases such as, "colour palette", "bohemiam luxe" and his "latest pins".
3. Does he contuinually push for more 'man focussed' activities such as cigar or whisky bars and bow tie tea parties?
4. And finally, does he offer uninformed opinions about the wedding, supporting these with an unbudgable stubborness?
... Beware of the groomzilla!
So... is this modern day beast something to be afraid of??
Actually, NO WAY!! Embrace it in fact! A wedding is about TWO people so it should therefore be a reflection of you as individuals and of course you as a couple. You want your man to be comfortable on the day and completely happy with the whole shibang that no doubt he has also worked very hard to fork out money for.
Its so refreshing to see wedding suppliers these days move away from a bride only focus and to see men getting involved in the planning of your awesome day.
Let him run free... I dare ya!
